Guidelines for proper and fair use of HostVerse services
This Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP) outlines the rules and guidelines for using HostVerse services. By using our services, you agree to comply with this policy. We have created these rules to ensure fair usage for all customers and maintain the quality, security, and reliability of our hosting platform. Please read carefully and contact us if you have any questions.
This Acceptable Usage Policy applies to all HostVerse customers including Shared Hosting, Reseller Hosting, and Master Reseller Hosting users. This policy is designed to protect our customers, our network infrastructure, and our reputation. Violation of this AUP may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund. We reserve the right to take any action necessary to maintain service quality and security. Repeated violations will result in permanent account termination. By using HostVerse services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy and agree to abide by all its terms.
Sending spam or unsolicited bulk emails (UBE) is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to mass mailing, email bombing, or sending emails to harvested email addresses. You may only send emails to recipients who have explicitly opted in to receive communications from you. All marketing emails must include a clear unsubscribe mechanism. Your account must not be used for email forwarding to external domains that send spam. Purchasing or using email lists from third parties is not allowed. Email send rates are monitored and excessive sending may result in account suspension. The use of our servers to support spam sent from other networks is prohibited. Accounts with multiple spam complaints will be immediately terminated. We comply with all anti-spam laws including India's IT Act and international regulations.
HostVerse services may not be used for any illegal activities or to host content that violates Indian law or international regulations. Prohibited activities include but are not limited to: fraud, identity theft, phishing, distribution of illegal substances, promotion of violence or terrorism, child exploitation material, human trafficking, illegal gambling, counterfeit goods, credit card fraud, money laundering, and any activity that violates the IT Act 2000 or Indian Penal Code. Accounts involved in illegal activities will be immediately suspended and reported to appropriate law enforcement agencies. We fully cooperate with legal authorities and will provide customer information when legally required. Hosting content that promotes or facilitates illegal activities is strictly forbidden even if the content itself is not illegal.
Adult content, pornography, and sexually explicit material are strictly prohibited on all HostVerse hosting plans. This includes but is not limited to pornographic images, videos, live streams, escort services, adult dating sites, and any sexually explicit content. Sites that link to adult content or advertise adult services are also prohibited. This policy applies regardless of the legal status of such content in your jurisdiction. Violations will result in immediate account termination without refund or warning. If you are unsure whether your content violates this policy, please contact our support team before hosting it. We reserve the right to determine what constitutes adult content at our sole discretion.
You may not host content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others. This includes copyrighted material, pirated software, nulled scripts, warez, cracked applications, music files, movies, TV shows, ebooks, and any other content distributed without proper authorization. Torrent sites, file sharing services, and streaming sites hosting copyrighted content are prohibited. We respond to valid DMCA takedown notices and will remove infringing content promptly. Repeat copyright infringers will have their accounts permanently terminated. You are responsible for ensuring that all content hosted on your account is properly licensed. HostVerse is not liable for copyright infringement by customers but will cooperate with copyright holders to address violations.
Any attempt to compromise the security of HostVerse servers or other systems is strictly prohibited. This includes port scanning, brute force attacks, SQL injection attempts, exploitation of vulnerabilities, unauthorized access attempts, distribution of malware, hosting of viruses or trojans, botnet command and control, and DDoS attacks. You may not use our services to attack or compromise other networks or systems. Hosting hacking tools, exploit databases, or security testing tools intended for malicious use is forbidden. Ethical security research must be conducted only with explicit written permission. Your website must be kept secure and updated. If your account is compromised due to poor security practices, you are responsible for any resulting damage. Accounts found distributing malware will be immediately terminated and may be reported to authorities.
While some plans advertise unlimited resources, all usage must be reasonable and in line with typical website hosting. Excessive CPU usage, memory consumption, or I/O operations that impact server performance or other customers are not permitted. No single account should consistently use more than 25% of server resources. Resource-intensive applications like game servers, mining operations, video encoding, or intensive data processing are prohibited on shared hosting. Accounts with excessive resource usage will be contacted and may be required to optimize their usage, upgrade to a higher plan, or migrate to a dedicated server. Failure to reduce resource usage may result in account suspension. We monitor resource usage continuously and reserve the right to limit or throttle accounts that exceed fair usage thresholds.
The following types of scripts and applications are prohibited on all shared hosting accounts: IRC bots or servers, proxy scripts, TOR exit nodes, cryptocurrency mining scripts, mass mailing scripts, auto-surfing or traffic exchange scripts, banner rotation scripts using cron, file sharing or storage scripts, image hosting scripts for public use, backup scripts that consume excessive resources, scripts that send automated requests to external APIs at high frequency, and any script that violates our resource usage policy. Additionally, outdated or vulnerable scripts must be updated promptly. Running background processes or daemons that consume server resources continuously is not allowed. Shell access abuse or running unauthorized services will result in access revocation. If you need to run specific applications, please verify compatibility with our support team before installation.
Your hosting account is intended for hosting websites and related content, not as a general file storage or backup service. Using your account primarily for file storage, backup services, or as a content delivery network is prohibited. Public file hosting services that allow unlimited uploads from visitors are not permitted. Hosting large media files unrelated to your website, such as personal photo collections or video archives, violates this policy. Storage must be used primarily for active website content. Accounts found to be using storage for purposes other than legitimate website hosting may be required to remove excess files or upgrade to an appropriate service. Inode limits apply to all accounts and excessive numbers of files may result in restrictions. Backup files should be stored for reasonable periods and not used for long-term archival storage.
Any activity that disrupts or abuses network resources is strictly prohibited. This includes participating in or launching DDoS attacks, conducting port scans of external networks, IP spoofing, packet sniffing, bandwidth flooding, or any form of network abuse. Your account may not be used to host open proxies, VPN services, or anonymization tools intended to hide malicious activity. Hosting botnets or command and control infrastructure is forbidden. Excessive bandwidth usage that impacts server performance may result in throttling or account suspension. All network activity must comply with applicable laws and internet standards. Accounts found participating in coordinated attacks or network abuse will be immediately terminated and reported to appropriate authorities. We monitor network traffic and reserve the right to block suspicious or abusive connections.
Reseller and Master Reseller account holders are responsible for ensuring their clients comply with this Acceptable Usage Policy. All restrictions that apply to direct customers also apply to reseller clients. Resellers must implement their own Terms of Service and Acceptable Usage Policy for their customers, but these must be at least as restrictive as HostVerse policies. Resellers are liable for any violations by their clients and may have their entire reseller account suspended for client violations. You must actively monitor your client accounts and take prompt action against policy violations. Resellers may not oversell resources in a way that degrades server performance. You must provide adequate support to your clients and handle abuse complaints responsibly. Failure to manage client violations may result in termination of your reseller privileges. Master Resellers must ensure their resellers also enforce these policies.
Database usage must be reasonable and appropriate for web hosting purposes. Extremely large databases that impact server performance are not permitted on shared hosting. Database queries must be optimized to minimize resource consumption. Running long-running or resource-intensive queries during peak hours may result in query termination. Databases should not be used for purposes unrelated to your website, such as storing application data for non-web applications. Regular database maintenance and optimization is your responsibility. Excessively large tables, poorly indexed databases, or inefficient queries that cause performance issues must be corrected promptly. We reserve the right to limit database sizes and may require you to optimize or reduce database usage if it impacts server performance. Remote database access may be restricted or disabled if abused.
If you become aware of any violation of this Acceptable Usage Policy, please report it to our abuse department immediately at the contact form on our website or through our support system. We take all reports seriously and investigate them promptly. When reporting abuse, please provide as much detail as possible including the domain name, description of the violation, and any supporting evidence. Reports can be submitted anonymously if desired. We appreciate the cooperation of our customers and the internet community in maintaining a safe and compliant hosting environment. HostVerse will protect the identity of reporters to the extent possible and will not retaliate against users who report violations in good faith. False or malicious abuse reports may result in action against the reporting party.
HostVerse reserves the right to enforce this policy at our sole discretion. Violations may result in warning, account suspension, or immediate termination depending on the severity. We will attempt to contact customers before taking action when possible, but reserve the right to suspend accounts immediately in cases of severe violations, security threats, or legal requirements. Suspended accounts may be reactivated once the violation is resolved, subject to any applicable reactivation fees. Terminated accounts are not eligible for refunds. We may remove content, disable features, or limit functionality to address policy violations. Repeated violations will result in permanent account termination. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who has previously violated our policies. Enforcement actions are final and not subject to appeal except in cases of clear error.
HostVerse reserves the right to modify this Acceptable Usage Policy at any time to address new threats, technologies, or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated to customers via email or account notifications. Continued use of services after policy changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. It is your responsibility to review this policy periodically to stay informed of any changes. We may add new restrictions or modify existing ones as needed to maintain service quality and security. Policy updates take effect immediately upon posting unless otherwise specified. If you do not agree with policy changes, you may cancel your service according to our cancellation terms. This policy was last updated in October 2024 and supersedes all previous versions.
